Ouija Board Dos and Don'ts

Global Psychics has received quite a few letters over the past few months concerning the use of Ouija boards. I have included two consecutive letters from one of our website visitors attesting to the angst the Ouija board can cause. Ouija boards are not toys. They are not to be played with. They are a magical tool, and like any tool, can do as much harm as good. The Ouija board has a rather colorful, if not checkered past. Thanks to the auspices of Wikipedia, I have also included some historical references, the supposed origin of the Ouija and a note on Aleister Crowley’s thoughts on the subject that I had not seen before. A great deal more information can be found at the Wikipedia website.

I have been working with the board since I was a child. My mother was a board reader and was my teacher in the art of the Ouija. I still use a board, though I have moved on to using a board called the “ Psychic Circle ”, for reasons I will explain later, instead of the standard Parker Brothers board pictured above. First let me tell you about a very life changing experience I had with the Ouija board back in the summer of 1971.

I had just moved to San Francisco to an apartment at 1137 Hyde St . My roommate, Robyn was from Minnesota ; I was from Massachusetts . This was a time when many young people were migrating to the West Coast, especially to San Francisco . The whole New Age thing was happening in the wake of the Hippy movement that was centered in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco. Robyn and I had three friends who shared an interest in metaphysics with us, Barbara, Jim, and Bob. We spent a lot of time together and one day I asked if any of them had ever worked with the Ouija board. They hadn’t, so I said let’s get one and see which of you can make it work. I knew I could make it work, but I did not know which of these four persons would be able to work it with me. It takes two to work the board. It came to be that my own roommate, Robyn, was able to make it “dance”. My life long spirit guide immediately came through. Robyn and I would work the board, while the others took turns writing down the messages Robyn and I received. At first the messages told us what a great team Robyn and I made, but the messages as to who and what we could be started to be the main focus. Everyone in the group eventually became astute in the areas suggested by the board. We had many adventures inspired by the board. Adventures I will relate some other time. Robyn went on to be an excellent astrologer in Aspen , Colorado , Jim, a numerologist in California . Bob became a worker of quartz crystal; Barb became an herbalist/healer/midwife. I went on to be a professional Tarot reader. All of us were directed by the board to pursue these paths.

I and the rest of my group had a positive experience with the board, but we were very careful, and I had been trained and already had a guide in place. My spirit guide, who shall remain nameless at this time, “stood guard”. He would not allow any mischievous spirits to invade our space, and he told us this right out front. He would not put up with any nonsense. It was his protection that surrounded us. We did not have any backlash from any nasty spirits, let alone demons. We got some very useful information that served us very well. We were “improved”. We never used the board for gossip or for selfish purposes. We just wanted truthful information. We wanted to know what was really going on. We got it. I have many stories of “board room meetings”!

On the other hand, there are many people that tinker with the board. They want to know if their boyfriend is cheating on them, or who is going to win this weekend’s big game. Such questions invite trouble. A lower level of inquiry attracts a low level spirit, and there are some real nasty ones with extremely sadistic senses of humor. Again, the board is not a toy. The Ouija board is a portal. It is a gateway to another dimension. This dimension is populated by both good and bad entities, just like here.

We, at Global Psychics, recently received a couple of letters from a mother whose son had played with a Ouija board; he got it to work; he opened up the door, but did not close it out when he was through “playing” with it. He was visiting his aunt, his mother’s sister, and started “playing” with the board. I do not know if he tried to work it himself, which is a big No-No, as that almost always leads to spirit attachment. (You should always do the board with two people.) Anyway, the point is that the doorway was not closed. There is the word GOOD BYE on every Ouija board and it is there for a very important reason. It is to close the “gate”. If you do not close the board, you open yourself to just about anything that wants to come through. This is not good, and there have been some very nasty outcomes as a result. People have been haunted, suffered mental illness, and even committed suicide, so you can see where the Ouija board is not a toy. As I mentioned above, I now use a board called the Psychic Circle designed by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber. I use it because it is a Circle of Protection. It “contains” whatever entity is coming through the board. It is a built in protection. Aleister Crowley suggested the same approach. Draw a Magical Circle around your board session.

THE DOS OF WORKING THE OUIJA BOARD

  • Do protect yourself. Say a protection prayer. I start out with: “May this session be surrounded by Golden Light. May this Golden Light protect us from Negativity, the Opposition Forces, the Dark Side, and any entity that may try to harm us. May we also be surrounded by a crystalline dome that will reflect back any such negative forces that may get through.”
  • Do place quartz crystals in the room.
  • Do make a magical circle around the place where the board is being used. A circle of salt works very well.
  • Do go into the session with the highest intent to do GOOD and receive valid information.
  • Do burn sage, sweet grass, and/or incense
  • Do record your sessions in some manner either via tape recorder or written notes.

THE DON’TS OF WORKING THE OUIJA BOARD

  • Do not consume alcohol or drugs.
  • Do not do the board when tired or fatigued.
  • Do not do the board when you are in a bad mood.
  • Do not use the board to pry into other’s privacy.
  • Do not use the board in any way to affect someone else’s free will.
  • Do not use the board for financial gain.

Editor’s note: I would also add, Do not use the board alone, always work with a partner, and Do not use the board if you are under 18, unless supervised by an adult. Remember, the Ouija is not a toy and connecting with spirit is not a game… if you approach this work as a game, you will find yourself connecting with energies that just want to play, and some of these can be harmful.

My son played with the Ouija board and brought a spirit out! I know because my dog keeps barking at him and growling, she won’t attack him because she knows his voice!! How do I get rid of it??? Melinda

My Response: Ouija boards are not toys! They can and do open doors to the other side and what comes through can be a nuisance. First thing to do is get on the board with your son. You have to do this with your son, since he is the one that opened the board up. No one else will do. Demand the name of the spirit, say goodbye to it, command it to leave, and then close out the board. Destroy that Ouija board so no more accidents occur. Your son, probably in his ignorance of how the board works, left the board open and did not close it out. That is why the word GOOD-BYE is on the board. If you leave the board open, you leave the door open. Close it ASAP. This should calm things down. Love, Light, & Laughter, Christopher Ree

I try so much for the response to my message, I will try to do the sage and grass braid. My son opened the Ouija board at my sister’s house; he no longer has anything to do with it!!! Should I tell my sister to close it or should I do this with my son? My sister lives pretty far away its hard to get there what should I do?

The board must be closed by the person that opened it. This means that your son has to be one of the people to close it. As you can see, this is a problem. You will be subjected to this mischievous spirit until that board is closed. Not just any board, but the one that your son messed with. You can burn a forest of sage and not stop it. The door has to be closed. Have your sister send you the board in the mail and then call the spirit, get its name, say the name to banish the spirit, and close the board out. Make sure the planchette goes to the GOOD-BYE. Then go out and burn it in a safe place. Then I would smudge your son, you, and your entire house. It’s a lot of work for such a small infraction, but is the only thing I know of that can be done in this situation. Keep us posted. Love, Light, & Laughter, Christopher Ree

We seem to be getting more and more letters concerning Ouija boards. They are not toys, and I know. I was trained on a board from the age of four. My mother tested each of her children with the board. I made it dance. I can work a board like no one else I know living, but, and a big BUT it is. The board is a Gateway, a Portal. The other side is accessible through a Ouija board. In the wrong hands, it is disastrous. It is no accident that Parker Brothers Games is headquartered in Salem , Massachusetts . Parker Bros. brought this game to the toy market! The board is nothing new. The ancient Egyptians and Chinese used a similar device.

Kids playing with such a device as the Ouija board are asking for trouble, and their families will suffer along with them. I was taught and trained by my mother, who knew her stuff. The kids these days think it is a toy, their mothers, clueless. Boards of any kind are not playthings. They are very effective, but can be dangerous in the wrong hands. They are basic ceremonial magic and without knowledge and control, can backfire big time. It is one thing to be able to call up a helpful spirit, but to get a wrong number can be a nightmare no one would want. LL&L, Christopher Ree

Note from Danielle: As synchronicity would have it, this next article arrived in my mail box while I was posting Christopher’s… fitting!

The Demon Warrior is on the Prowl!

By Paul Dale Roberts, HPI General Manager aka The Demon Warrior

The owner of HPI – Shannon ‘Ms. Macabre’ McCabe received an emergency phone call from South Sacramento, near where I live. The caller Ted Huntley tells Shannon that he believes a demon entity is inhabiting his home. Shannon sends the call over to me. While talking with Mr. Huntley, I am taking notes. I go back over his statement and discover that his statement is consistent and has no discrepancies or contradictions.

Mr. Huntley basically says that he was playing with a Ouija Board with 3 of his buddies, they were trying to make contact with the late Michael Jackson, since all 4 of them are big Michael Jackson fans. They had a candle lit and the candle flame went out on it’s own. They felt a cold draft enter the room. According to Mr. Huntley, one of his buddies passed out and started convulsing for 2 minutes.

After this session, they put up the Ouija Board and never brought it out again. Mr. Huntley says on one night the window slammed closed on its own. He has now seen a dark mass moving from his bedroom to the living room. Three scratch marks in the form of circles appeared on his legs. Mr. Huntley tells me he doesn’t want an investigation, he wants the demons out of his house. He wants his home blessed! Mr. Huntley is a devout Catholic and asks if I could do an emergency blessing of his home. I agree.

I am not ordained, but I have learned enough from my former priest in Louisiana to know what is needed for a blessing. I head over to Mr. Huntley’s home and to my horror, the home smelled of rotted flesh. The smell lasted for mere seconds before dissipating. I asked Mr. Huntley if he smelled the odor and he said “no”. I proceeded with the blessing and after I was finished, Mr. Huntley claimed he could smell a flowery fragrance. Now here is the odd thing, I didn’t smell the fragrance. Legend has it, that if a home is properly blessed, you will hear a thundering sound. The sound of demons leaving the home and afterwards a fragrant smell will resonate through the home. This is the indication that angels are now protecting the home.

I didn’t hear any thundering sounds, but Mr. Huntley claims to have smelled the fragrance after my blessing. So, perhaps I was successful. It has been over a week now and Mr. Huntley claims that there is no more paranormal activity in his home. He has also thrown his Ouija Board into the Sacramento River. Note: To burn a Ouija Board can bring upon a curse to your person or family. It is best to dispose of a Ouija Board by burying it on hollowed ground away from your property or throwing it into a river.

Mr. Huntley, have a good life and always seek out positive energy!

Excerpt From Wikipedia.com, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouija_board

A Ouija board, , also known as spirit board or talking board ) is a flat board marked with letters, numbers, and other symbols, theoretically used to communicate with spirits. It uses a planchette (small heart-shaped piece of wood) or movable indicator to indicate the spirit’s message by spelling it out on the board during a séance . The fingers of the séance participants are placed on the planchette, which then moves about the board to spell out messages. Ouija is a trademark for a talking board currently sold by Parker Brothers. While the word is not considered a genericized trademark , it has become a trademark that is often used generically to refer to any talking board.

The first historical mention of something resembling a Ouija board is found in China around 1100 B.C., a divination method known as fuji “planchette writing”. Little is published regarding Aleister Crowley’s advocacy of the Ouija board. Yet, he had great admiration for the use of one and the Ouija board played a passing role in his magical workings.

Jane Wolfe, who lived with Crowley at his infamous Abbey of Thelema, also used the Ouija board. She credits some of her greatest spiritual communications to use of this implement. Crowley also discussed the Ouija board with another of his students, and the most ardent of them, Frater Achad (Charles Stansfeld Jones): it is frequently mentioned in their unpublished letters. Crowley has stated, of the Ouija Board that, “There is, however, a good way of using this instrument to get what you want, and that is to perform the whole operation in a consecrated circle, so that undesirable aliens cannot interfere with it. You should then employ the proper magical invocation in order to get into your circle just the one spirit you want. It is comparatively easy to do this. A few simple instructions are all that is necessary, and I shall be pleased to give these, free of charge, to any one who cares to apply.”

Spiritualists who believe Ouija boards can be used to make actual contact with the spirit world feel that the act of hindering a medium’s ability to use his or her own eyes while the board is in uses effectively places too great of a handicap on the whole exercise. This argument stems from the belief that contacted spirits actually utilize the eyes of the medium during a Ouija session in order to point to the letters and words needed to form a message. Most believers of this notion believe that the board has no intrinsic power in and of itself, but rather, is used simply as a tool to aid a medium while in communication with the spirit world.

  • The Ouija board is a tool that is believed by some to be a way to communicate with spirits. While using a Ouija board, it's important to follow certain do's and don'ts for safety and respectful communication: Do's: 1. Set clear intentions: Before starting, have a clear purpose for the session and communicate it to the spirits. 2. Create a peaceful environment: Choose a calm and quiet space to conduct the session, free from distractions and negative energy. 3. Use with a trusted group: Perform the session with individuals you trust and feel comfortable with. 4. Use light touch: Place your finger lightly on the planchette and allow it to move on its own. 5. Communicate with respect: Remain polite and respectful during the session, addressing the spirits cordially. Don'ts:
    1. Conduct alone: It's generally recommended to avoid using a Ouija board alone as it may increase the chances of negative or unwanted experiences.
    2. Use when emotionally vulnerable: Avoid using the board when feeling emotionally upset, as it may attract negative energy.
    3. Make disrespectful requests: Never ask disrespectful, offensive, or harmful questions or make negative remarks to the spirits.
    4. Use in negative environments: Avoid using the board in places with negative energy or during times of high emotional stress.
    5. Ignore warning signs: If the session becomes unsettling, the planchette becomes erratic, or negative energy is felt, stop using the board immediately.
    6. Ultimately, it's important to use caution and respect while using a Ouija board. It's also vital to remember that belief in the board's ability to communicate with spirits varies among individuals, and skeptics may attribute the movements to subconscious or natural causes rather than paranormal activity.

    • It seems you are referring to the Ouija board, which is a board game used to communicate with spirits. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to play:
      1. Gather a group of participants: You will need at least two people to play, but more people can make the experience more interesting.
      2. Find a quiet and dimly lit room: Choose a location where you won't be disturbed and that creates a dark and mysterious atmosphere.
      3. Set up the board: Place the Ouija board on a flat surface, ensuring everyone can easily access it. It typically consists of letters, numbers, and words, along with a "Yes," "No," and "Goodbye" response indicator.
      4. Warm-up: Start by collectively placing your hands lightly on the planchette (the small, heart-shaped device used for communicating). Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to relax and focus on the experience.
      5. State intentions and ask for protection: Before starting, verbalize your intention to connect with spirits respectfully. Some people also like to ask for spiritual protection or blessings before beginning.
      6. Start asking questions: With your fingertips on the planchette, start asking simple and clear questions directed towards any spirits present. Ask them to move the planchette to indicate their response.
      7. Allow the spirits to communicate: The planchette may start moving around the board in response to your questions. It can point to letters, numbers, or words to form messages from the spirits.
      8. Interpret the responses: As the planchette moves, it might spell out words or form sentences. One person can write down the letters or words indicated to keep track of the messages.
      9. End the session: To conclude the session, thank the spirits (if desired) and gently move the planchette to "Goodbye" on the board. This indicates that you have finished your communication and are politely ending the interaction.
      10. Remember, playing with an Ouija board may involve spiritual or paranormal elements, and some people may find it unsettling. It is essential to approach it with respect and to be aware of the potential effects it may have on participants.

How to make an ouja board?

      • Creating a Ouija board is simple and can be done using regular household items. However, it is important to note that playing with a Ouija board can be associated with superstitions and beliefs that it may invite negative energy or spirits. Here's a general guide to making a basic Ouija board: Materials needed: 1. A flat, smooth surface such as a large piece of paper, cardboard, or wood. 2. A writing utensil (such as a pen or marker). 3. A circular object (such as a glass or a small cup). Steps to create a Ouija board:
        1. Find a quiet and calm area where you feel comfortable conducting the session.
        2. Take the flat surface of your choice (paper, cardboard, or wood) and place it on a table or flat surface.
        3. Using a writing utensil, draw a large, simple circle on the surface. This circle should be wide enough to contain the desired alphabet letters and numbers.
        4. Next, inside the circle, draw a horizontal line to divide the circle into two halves, symbolizing "yes" and "no."
        5. Above the line, write the word "yes" and below the line, write the word "no."
        6. Add the alphabet letters to the upper arc of the circle, starting with A at the top and continuing clockwise.
        7. Add the numbers to the lower arc of the circle, also starting at the top and going clockwise from 0-9.
        8. In the middle of the board, you can draw additional words or symbols such as "goodbye" or other indicators if desired.
        9. Once the board is complete, place the circular object (glass or small cup) upside down on the board, centered on the circle.
        10. Remember to approach using a Ouija board with respect and caution. It is always advisable to consult with others involved and, if desired, research or consult spiritual or religious authorities for guidance.

        • Creating a Ouija board involves some DIY skills and materials. Here's a general guide on how to make one: Materials Needed: 1. A smooth, flat surface or board (such as wood, cardboard, or thick paper) 2. A writing utensil, such as a marker or paint 3. Numbers and letters template (optional) 4. A glass or a small, lightweight planchette 5. Clear tape or glue (optional) Instructions:
          1. Start by choosing your board material. A wooden board is commonly used, but you can also use cardboard or thick paper. Ensure it's large enough to comfortably fit all the letters, numbers, and words.
          2. Decide on the layout of your board. Traditionally, a Ouija board has the numbers 0-9, the alphabet, "Yes," "No," "Goodbye," and some additional words like "Hello" or "Maybe."
          3. If you're confident in your handwriting, you can freehand draw the layout using your writing utensil. Alternatively, print out a template with the desired layout and tape or glue it to the board.
          4. Using your writing utensil, carefully draw or trace the numbers, letters, and words onto the board. Make sure they are clear and readable, as they will be crucial during the spirit communication process.
          5. If you have a glass or lightweight planchette, you can use it as a pointer on the board. If not, you can create one by cutting out a small circular or heart-shaped piece from cardboard or thick paper. Decorate it as desired.
          6. Once your board and planchette are ready, it's time to use them. Remember to approach the Ouija board with caution and respect for the spirits you may be trying to communicate with.
          7. Decide who will participate and place your fingertips gently on the planchette. Start by asking questions or inviting spirits to communicate. Allow the planchette to move freely across the board, spelling out messages or providing answers.
          8. Important Note: Ouija boards are often used as a form of spiritual or supernatural communication, and they may involve contacting unknown entities. It's essential to understand the potential risks and exercise caution if you choose to use one.

          • Creating a Ouija board, also known as a spirit board, involves a combination of creativity and common materials. Here are the steps to create a basic Ouija board: Materials you will need: 1. A rectangular piece of sturdy cardboard or wood (around A3 or larger) 2. A circular shape large enough to fit in the center of the rectangle (you can trace the bottom of a glass or use a compass) 3. A pen or marker 4. Optional: decorative elements like colors, symbols, or drawings to personalize your board Instructions:
            1. Place the rectangle on a flat surface and ensure it is clean and free from any debris.
            2. Position the circular shape in the center of the rectangle. If you're using a glass or compass, carefully trace around it with a pen or marker. This part will be the start of your board.
            3. Inside the circle, write the words "YES" at the top, "NO" at the bottom, and "GOODBYE" at the sides. You can also add the alphabet in a curved shape clockwise surrounding the circle (A to M on the left side, N to Z on the right side).
            4. Use the pen or marker to connect the letters of the alphabet, creating an uninterrupted line.
            5. Decorate the board to your liking with colors, symbols, or drawings.
            6. Allow the board to dry completely before using it.
            7. Remember that the Ouija board is primarily used as a game or tool for entertainment purposes, but some people believe it can also be a means of communication with spirits. Use it responsibly and exercise caution. It's essential to approach activities involving spirits and paranormal with a level of skepticism and create a safe and respectful environment.

              • There is no scientific evidence to support the existence of supernatural entities or the effectiveness of Ouija boards in communicating with them. However, using Ouija boards can be potentially dangerous from a psychological standpoint, as they can lead to feelings of anxiety, fear, and paranoia. Furthermore, people who use Ouija boards may be more susceptible to suggestion and may attribute their experiences to paranormal activity when there may be logical explanations. It is important to approach the use of Ouija boards with caution and skepticism.

How to play ouija at home?
                • Playing with a Ouija board at home can be a fun and potentially spooky experience. However, it is important to approach it with caution and respect. Here are the steps on how to play with a Ouija board at home:
                  1. Gather the necessary supplies: You will need a Ouija board (either a commercially available one or homemade), a planchette (the small, heart-shaped or triangular piece used to move around the board), and two or more willing participants.
                  2. Choose a suitable location: Find a quiet and comfortable area in your home where you can sit on a level surface. Dimmed lighting or candles may enhance the ambiance, but be sure to prioritize safety and avoid any fire hazards.
                  3. Set the mood: It is advisable to create a calm and focused atmosphere before starting. You might want to light some incense or play soft music to enhance the ambiance.
                  4. Decide on the rules and intentions: Discuss and agree on the purpose of the session. Establish rules for communicating with the spirits and what types of questions are appropriate. Remember to remain respectful and avoid asking personal, harmful, or provocative questions.
                  5. Prepare yourselves mentally: Take a few moments to relax, meditate, or set your intentions. Clear your mind of any distractions or negativity to create a focused and receptive mindset.
                  6. Place your fingers lightly on the planchette: Participants should lightly rest their fingertips on the planchette without applying pressure. Let it move freely while being guided by the spirits. You may also choose to circle the planchette over the board three times clockwise to invite positive energy or protection.
                  7. Begin the session: One participant should ask an open-ended question out loud, addressing the spirits and inviting them to communicate. Maintain a calm and focused attitude throughout the process. Do not force the planchette to move but allow it to respond naturally.
                  8. Communicate respectfully: If the planchette starts to move, everyone should pay attention and take turns asking questions, allowing the spirits to respond. It may take some time for the planchette to start moving, so be patient.
                  9. End the session: To end the session, thank the spirits for their communication and politely say goodbye. Move the planchette to "goodbye" on the board.
                  10. Warning: Some individuals believe that Ouija boards can be a way to communicate with spirits, while others see them as dicey and potentially dangerous. It's important to approach Ouija boards with caution, respect, and an open mind. Always remember to prioritize your safety, emotional well-being, and follow any personal or cultural beliefs regarding spiritual practices.

Can a ouija board work with one person?
                  • Traditionally, a ouija board is used by multiple participants who place their hands on a planchette (a small, heart-shaped or triangular device) and collectively ask questions to the spirits. However, some individuals claim to have successfully used a ouija board alone. In such cases, the person may place their hands on the planchette alone and ask questions, letting their subconscious mind guide the movement. It is important to note that the effectiveness of the ouija board largely depends on an individual's beliefs, mindset, and interpretation of the experience. Some people believe it is simply a game or a psychological phenomenon, while others believe it can communicate with spirits.

                    • Creating a homemade Ouija board involves several steps. However, it is important to remember that Ouija boards are considered by some to be tools of divination and can be associated with superstitions and spiritual beliefs. Therefore, it's important to use them responsibly and approach them with caution. Here's a step-by-step guide for making a basic Ouija board: Materials needed: - A smooth, flat surface (such as a wooden board or thick cardboard) - A pencil or a marker - A ruler or straight edge - A glass or a planchette (can be a small, smooth object with a pointed center, like a drinking glass or a homemade cardboard/plastic piece) Steps:
                      1. Find a suitable base: Choose a smooth, flat surface to use as the base of your Ouija board. A wooden board or a thick piece of cardboard works well.
                      2. Measure and divide the surface: Use a ruler or straight edge to divide the surface into three equal sections horizontally. Draw two equally spaced lines across the board to create these sections.
                      3. Label the sections: At the top section, write the letters A-Z in a semi-circle pattern, resembling a clock. You can do this either with a pencil or a marker.
                      4. Add additional elements: In the middle section, place the words "Yes" and "No" on opposite sides, ensuring the placement is symmetrical. In the bottom section, add the numbers 0-9 in a similar semi-circle pattern.
                      5. Create a goodbye message: On one of the empty spaces outside of the three sections, write "Goodbye." This would be used to properly close the Ouija session.
                      6. Personalize the board (optional): If desired, you can add additional symbols or decorative elements to personalize the board. However, this is not necessary for its functionality.
                      7. Create a planchette: Take a glass or another small, smooth object and place it at the center of the board. Ensure it has a pointed center to easily fit on the letters of the board. Alternatively, you can create your own planchette using cardboard or plastic.
                      8. Now your homemade Ouija board is ready for use. Remember to approach it respectfully and with an open mind. If you have any doubts or concerns, it is always safer to refrain from using it to avoid potential negative experiences.

How to make ouija boards work?
                      • Making a Ouija board work is believed to involve contacting the spirit world and communicating with spirits. Here are the steps to make a Ouija board work:
                        1. Gather the required materials: You will need a Ouija board, which typically consists of a flat board marked with the alphabet, numbers, and other symbols, and a "planchette" or pointer that moves across the board.
                        2. Set the ambiance: Find a quiet and dimly lit area where you can focus without distractions. Some people like to light candles or incense to create a spiritual atmosphere.
                        3. Gather participants: It's recommended to have at least two people involved, as this can enhance the energy and focus on the board.
                        4. Use it with an open mind: Approach the Ouija board with an open and respectful mindset. This means believing in the possibility of contacting spirits or energy from the other side.
                        5. Begin with a prayer or intention setting: Some people find it helpful to say a prayer or set an intention before starting. This can help create a sacred space and invite positive energy.
                        6. Position the planchette: Place the planchette on the board, typically in the center. Lightly touch it with your fingertips, allowing it to move freely.
                        7. Ask questions: As a group, decide on the types of questions you want to ask. Start with simple questions like, "Is there anyone here?" or "Are there any spirits who wish to communicate?"
                        8. Maintain a light touch: Each participant should lightly place their fingertips on the planchette, ensuring it moves freely. Allow it to glide across the board with ease, spelling out the answers.
                        9. Respectfully communicate: Speak clearly and politely when asking questions. Allow ample time for the planchette to move and spell out responses. Be patient and maintain focus.
                        10. Close the session properly: When you're finished, thank the spirits for their communication and say goodbye. Move the planchette to "goodbye" on the board to signify the end of the session.
                        11. Remember, using a Ouija board involves an element of belief and spirituality. While some people may have meaningful experiences using it, others may not. It is essential to approach this tool with caution, respect, and an open mind.

                          Do homemade ouija boards work?
                        • The concept of Ouija boards, whether homemade or commercially produced, is based on the belief that one can communicate with spirits or the supernatural. However, the effectiveness or "workings" of homemade Ouija boards are subjective and vary greatly depending on personal beliefs and experiences. Many people believe that Ouija boards can open doors to negative or unwanted spiritual energies and advise against their use. Skeptics argue that the movements of the board's planchette are usually involuntary and driven by the ideomotor effect, where subtle subconscious movements by the participants unknowingly guide its motion. Ultimately, the effectiveness of homemade Ouija boards is based on personal beliefs and experiences, and it is important to consider potential risks and exercise caution when engaging in any spiritual or supernatural practices.

                            • Making a homemade ouija board to work takes some practice, and the first and foremost thing you need to do is to make sure everyone is comfortable and willing to participate in the session. Once everyone is ready and comfortable, you will need to create the board. You can either use a piece of paper or cardboard and draw the board, or you can purchase a pre-made ouija board. Then, place an object such as a a glass, a cup or a paper weight on the ouija board. Everyone in the session should then place their index fingers on the object. Then, you can ask questions and wait for the object to move. If the object does not move, you can lightly shake the board or table and ask the question again. Remember to always be respectful and follow the instructions that come with your Ouija board.

                                      1. Unplug the board and burn it if possible. This is the most effective way to get rid of a Ouija board safely and permanently.
                                      2. Bury the board in a deep hole in the ground. Make sure to bury it at least a few feet deep so that it will be difficult to access.
                                      3. Throw the board away. Make sure to wrap it in a large, heavy-duty garbage bag first so that it is not easily visible.
                                      4. Donate the board to a museum or haunted house. This is a safe way to get rid of the board without disposing of it.
                                      5. Destroy the board with a hammer or a saw. This is also a safe way to get rid of the board, but make sure to wear protective eye wear when doing so.

                                          • Spirit boards do not actually work. While many people believe that spirit boards can allow them to communicate with deceased spirits, most paranormal experts and scientists agree that this is nothing more than an entertaining parlour game. There is no scientific evidence to support the notion that the Ouija board can be used to communicate with the departed.

                                            • At the end of a Ouija board session, it is important to thank the spirits for their time and guidance. To end the session, move the planchette to the "Goodbye" space on the board, and thank the spirits for their presence. Make sure to also close the circle, if you opened one at the start of the session, by reciting a closing prayer or recite a short note of gratitude. Once these steps have been completed, place the board back in its box and store it in a safe place.

                                              • The best way to close a Ouija board portal is to remove all participants from the board and then physically move the planchette off the board. This can be done by turning the board over and removing the board and planchette from the area. Additionally, it is important to clear the energy of the area by performing a cleansing ritual such as smudging or burning sage.
