Many teens and their parents get concerned when it seems that abilities wane once puberty sets in. This is normal.
If you’re a psychic teen, the best thing you can do for yourself and your gifts is to be a teen – in other words, pay attention to your school work and your friends, stay busy with sports and creative activities, learning skills that will help you use your gifts later… avoid alcohol and drugs, eat healthy, live a balanced life in every way you can think of, and the gift will come out naturally…
One of the reasons that I can’t recommend too much work on a teen’s psychic self is because of the issue of grounding… in order to really work with psychic ability, we need to learn how to stay grounded in present time and space – this can be pretty hard for a young person, especially when hormones are raging…
One of the best ways for anyone, including teens, to develop their psychic abilities is to learn to meditate – which will helps you keep clear and centred with the work. If teens will keep developing their psychic abilities as just one of many things they are doing and learning about, a kind of hobby that they take up now and again, then they will find that these abilities serve them well and that power gains strength easily with maturity.
I am 16 years old, and I think that I used to have psychic abilities when I was younger. When I was very little, maybe 3 or so, I would know things that an ordinary child wouldn’t know. My father told me that I once came up to him and said, “It’s your birthday soon, isn’t it daddy?” He said there was no way for me to have known that his birthday was the next week. Also, my whole life, my father has been in and out of the hospital because of heart problems. I have a bone condition called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which causes me to break bones easily. I used to have dreams that one of us would have to go to the hospital a month to a week before it happened.
My father said that before I was born, I came to him in a dream. I was talking to him, and he said that I looked exactly like I did when I was 5 or 6. Could this have really been me?
I used to see spirits often, but I don’t anymore.
The only thing left of my ability today is that I sometimes get a strong sense that something unimportant is going to happen.
For instance, I know that I am going to get a call or text message from a specific person ten seconds or so before I get it, and I know what the message will say, I know without a doubt that a teacher is going to call on me to solve a problem, or I know what someone is going to say before they say it. I really would like to expand my abilities. It has always been very important to me, but recently I have joined a Baptist church that teaches that being psychic comes from demons. The whole concept has kind of scared me.
I really want to learn animal communication. I’ve always felt a deep connection with animals, and I’ve only met one animal that hasn’t been comfortable with me.
I know that I have a lot of questions, and I’m sorry for bothering you! I’ve just kept this bottled up inside for so long. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Heather
You are very articulate and I can see you are a wise and sensitive young woman. Your parents must be very proud.
What your father says can be very true. I have a friend who saw a spirit/child that wanted to be born. What’s cool is that you ‘knew’ what you would look like so you could manifest in that way. I suppose that has a lot to do with the fact there is no time in the realm we come and go from. In other words, you were already ‘you’ and so you just broadcast that image to your father.
As for the abilities you had but you feel have dimmed, no worries. You are still manifesting, you just need to realize one of two things: Either your life is so busy and overrun by being a teenager (I mean really, that’s a full time job, right?) and so you aren’t really as tuned in as you were as an uninterrupted preschooler, right? Or you just need to take time to hone those ‘skills.’ So actually, they are one and the same, huh?
The fact that you not only get a sense of someone calling but also know what the call is about is a huge thing. Allowing yourself to be aware of this and opening up to more is only a matter of ‘doing.’ We can close it out on purpose, ignoring it, or just by not really noticing. You are noticing.
Remember, your ‘knowing’ wasn’t all that specific when you were two. You just knew your dad’s birthday was coming. You didn’t know it was on the 18th or whatever or even that the 18th was a Tuesday. In a way, what you are experiencing now is more distinct. Wait till you not only know the teacher is going to call on you, but you know the answer either just before he/she asks or you somehow know what they’ll ask or the answer just comes and you don’t have to really think about it. You’ll start to feel as if you are cheating on tests!
There is a lot of info on the Global Psychics site which might be helpful in sharpening your ability.
I hope this helps even a little…and never ever apologize for asking questions. You aren’t bothering us. That’s why we’re here. We love to hear from you, and I especially seem to adore hearing from young people who are attempting to either understand their gifts or perfect them and ‘grow’ them in some way. It blesses me, I guess. *smile*
Oh! I almost forgot. I can understand the Baptist church thing kind of getting in the way of what it is you are hoping to experience. I used to be a church goer myself, and to churches which, like the Baptists, believed this type of thing was evil. What I have found is that for the most part, if these are spiritual Baptists at least, you can use different terminology to express what you experience in order for it to be deemed ‘acceptable.’ I know that sounds a little deceitful, but what I mean is this: I may suddenly just ‘know’ something. I can call that intuition or I can call it a word of wisdom or prophecy or I can call it a psychic ability. It all amounts to the same thing. I realize a church might say the only good things we ‘know’ or hear are from God and maybe the angels and that if we don’t say it’s from there then it’s evil. This is all smoke and mirrors, though. I know this because in the church I was seen as prophetic and wise and I am doing the very same thing now and people call it psychic.
I haven’t changed and neither has what I ‘do.’
BUT (and that really is a huge ‘but’) people are going to be concerned because of what they are being taught. My own parents are both gifted, but my father might call his intuition and therefore it is acceptable. What his mother had was ‘wisdom’ from God, so it was acceptable. But what he thinks my mother has is from Satan or whatever and he would call it all sorts of other things. But all 3 of these people ‘knew’ stuff, ‘heard’ stuff. The only difference may have been what they did with what they knew and heard. So maybe that is what we really need most to be careful of (besides who we share what with).
Hope this helps… LoLove, Teresa
